Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, friends! Rebecca Jo and I are so glad you're here joining in with us today! I'll jump right in with a very short and sweet post.

I am thankful for extra breaks in my day this week! We have some testing going on at our school, and that has made it to where we don't have all of our grades this week. Today I have a break from 10:45 until 2. I'm not sure how I feel about that long of a break, though...I'm afraid I'll get sleepy during all that extra time. I'm taking things to do so that I won't get bored.

I'm also very thankful for my family who keep picking up the slack for me while I work. I keep coming home to things like vacuumed floors, laundry in the process, and an emptied dishwasher. It's so nice of them! Well, I forgot to post this until six a.m. this morning, so I'm keeping things short today for that reason. I hope your day is great! Love to all.

What a nice break in the day! But yes, then you have to fill your time doing something. Make out a grocery list/meal plan, write a letter, pay bills. That way you'll have more movie time when you get home :)

Breaks are very nice when you are working. Hope you have a great day.
Debbie, it really was! I thought it would drag, but surprisingly it did not. I found plenty to do to fill my time!
Cathy, they really are! I'm so glad you linked up with us today!
I'm a teacher too so I can appreciate any chance to have an extra break. That's a nice long one you got!

Rebecca Jo, I don't know how moms of littles do it!

Fall 2020, "Come on in!"

Is it just me, or did September fly by?! That was when I brought out all the fall touches of decorations in our home—September 1st, to be exact. I thought I'd let you in and show you around our home and all the little fall touches I have sprinkled around. We still don't have landscaping, but our porch is cute! Here's to hoping I don't kill this pretty mum. I purchased some new door mats recently. One simply says, "Hello" and the other is black and white that goes under the brown one. I got the cute welcome sign from Hobby Lobby for half off! The other side says, "Welcome, Friends."  You can tell a lot about the house by a front porch and I've always tried to make ours inviting. Sometimes I succeed and other times I don't.  Myquillyn Smith (The Nester) says that a home feeling welcoming involves all of the senses, beginning with smell. I love the scents of fall that I find in my favorite candles and I have them burning if I'm home during t

dinner inspiration

Happy Tuesday, friends! I thought I'd do another dinner inspiration (or lunch) post since so many of you enjoyed the one I wrote last week.  I feel like I have this new appreciation for food all of a sudden, and I only want good food. I've always been like this in a sense, and because I enjoy good food, I enjoy cooking. I've never loved chain restaurants and these days I don't like eating out all that much, because the quality of food usually never matches the high price. We do have a few places we like to visit for date nights, one is a chain and the only chain I currently like (Longhorn) and the other is a local place called Jim's Grille. We always go to Jim's for our anniversary and we usually visit Longhorn once a year. We also have some other local places we like as well—my favorite Mexican place is called La Perla Tapatia and for fast food that's similar to Moe's we like to go to Booya's. They also have great burgers and cheese fries. Our other

weekending/Hello Monday & Prime Purchases

Happy Monday, friends and happy new year! I am not sure if Holly and Sarah are hosting the link party this week, but I'll share their blogs (where their names are) just in case. How was your weekend? I am so glad that the holidays are past. I love them so much, but they're exhausting. 🤣 I am ready for the routine of normal life again and a slower pace on my blog. That being said, I have lots to talk about today, so I'll get on with it.  I had a lovely and unusual Friday at home. You all know my dad comes over every Friday, but he really isn't able to be out much right now, so we skipped that day this week. I am glad I got to see him twice this week, and also on Christmas eve. I'll take any amount of time with him I can get, but since he wasn't here, I had the day to myself. Todd was here, working from home, and while he did some things for work, I did #alltheotherthings.  I read some books, I had an extended amount of quiet time, I cleaned the house, I did
