weekending, final graduation edition

Happy Monday, friends! What. a. weekend. It was busy and like a whirlwind, but it was so good. I am also very glad it's over! Graduation is always a huge sigh of relief, particularly when the weekend is over. Needless to say, that's all we did all weekend.

The rehearsal is always on the Friday night before. My husband tried to stress me out by almost making us late, but all was well and he managed to get us there with four minutes to spare. He has mad driving skills.

We had to be back by nine the next morning, so it was an early and long day. I always like to get pictures by these beautiful pillars and it was surreal to be finishing up this phase of our life by seeing Jonah and Noah in their caps and gowns.

I'm so proud of them! They've never complained more in their entire lives and over EVERYTHING—the bow ties, the top buttons on their shirts, the caps, their hair, how hot they were, the shoes—and I just laughed them off every time and told them to relax and enjoy themselves. It was a great day!

Left to right: Graham, Jonah, Drew and Noah. Birth order is Graham, Drew, Jonah and Noah. Drew may or may not have grabbed Jonah's and Noah's butts to make them smile this big. Notice the way he cracked himself up by the smile on his face.

I loved this quote from Rachel Martin. It is true! They both scanned the room until they found me and then we kept making eye contact the whole time.

All their grandparents and my sister Trish were in attendance.

It was a great day. We went to lunch afterward, then came home to get ready for the cookout we had that night. We just invited our family, my best friend and her husband and a bunch of their friends. It was way different than what we did for Graham and Drew, but it was so easy and way more laid back. I loved every minute. My favorite part of the night was when it was just down to six of us here at home—we went and sat on the deck and just enjoyed the evening. I went to bed and CRASHED. I don't even think I woke up once that night.

That was our weekend, how was your yours? Thanks for reading my blog! Love to all.

  1. What a great day and so glad the weather was good! Our oldest graduated there with MHEA. I know you are tired after a busy weekend.

  2. I was so relieved the weather was good. It was debatable all day because it kept looking dark. It ended up being the perfect night for a cookout!
