Friday Favorites, 5.7.21

Happy Friday! I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals for this weekly blog link.

So many things are my favorites this week. First up are our new flowerbeds. They're my favorite thing in my front yard at this moment and I love seeing all the blooms coming up. It's like Christmas everyday! With all the rain we've had, everything is thriving.

Hydrangeas are my very favorite bush and flower, They will forever remind me of my Grandma Lloyd—she had the most beautiful hydrangea bushes in front of her little white house. She had blue and purple, which I've heard can be accomplished by putting a rusty nail in the soil at the root of the bush. Have you heard that? I don't know if it's true.

This meme was my favorite from the week. My best friends and I have a continual text thread where we send things like this all throughout the week to each other. They've been known to send something so funny that I spew my drink. Missy sent this one and it reminds me of an infamous year that we were at high school youth camp in the mountains with a thousand (not really) teenagers. We were about to going to dinner, so I called her in her room and asked if she was ready to go yet. She said she was ready and then there was a pause and she said, "For what?" and she has NEVER lived it down. She had taken a nap that was so good that she forgot where she was and what day of the week it was. We walked ourselves to death that week and vowed never to go there again without a vehicle to drive us around. 🤣

Monday and Tuesday were favorite days this week because I got to meet friends at church for both of those days. Most of you know I'm on a writing team at church that writes Bible studies for women and we had meetings to nail down details about our next study. We're writing on the book of Esther and trying to get it all finished in the next two or three weeks.

I'm on book two of my favorite book series of all time—The Yada Yada Prayer Group series by Neta Jackson. It's a bonus that not only are they phenomenal books, but that they inspire my prayer life. I re-visit a favorite series of books every few years and this is my 2021 pick.

These little lovies graduate from high school on Saturday and they're headed to the beach next week with their friends. Expect an overload of pictures on Monday.

Graduation day is always a favorite day of mine, for all of our sons. I have such sweet memories of them all and as of last week, I finished my job as a homeschool mom. I have all the feelings! I'm counting on my hubby to make me laugh through the ceremony, otherwise I may cry the whole time.

Thanks for reading my blog! Love to all.

My grandmother had amazing giant blue hydrangeas all around her house too and I can not see them without thinking of her. Congrats on your last graduation! I just ordered my first homeschool diploma this week.... but I plan to hold off on the graduation until December when I see how he's doing with his college course he's taking this fall.
