catching up (again)

We've been so busy!  That is not a good thing, in my eyes, but sometimes it just can't be helped.  Here is what our living room looked like on Friday afternoon last week.

They replaced all the Sheetrock and sprayed our ceiling again.  Shortly after this, they were packing it all up again, and then we started cleaning.  That same night, every room downstairs, from top to bottom had been cleaned.  We put all the furniture back, gave the floors a good vacuuming and mopping, then sat down to rest a bit before going to bed.  My knees are still hurting from this night, and may never be the same.

The plan had been to do the upstairs on Saturday, but it all kind of changed.  I had a shower to go to that morning, and then I had to grocery shop.

This was a really fun shower.  My friend Abbey has a gift for this, and we played a really fun game of who knew Marissa the best.

Before I had left that morning, I put all our clothes back into our closet to clear out Graham's room.  Poor thing, his room was a mess because of all that we had to put in there while all this work was being done.  Each of the boys cleaned their own rooms and bathroom, and I'll do mine.  (I still haven't.)  Jonah decided to paint their bathroom that night.

Alex stayed here some over the weekend with us, while his family was out of town, and Saturday night he went to homecoming at Briarcrest.

LOOK HOW HANDSOME.  You should see him in person.  He is every bit as tall as he looks.

We were at church early on Sunday, then home for an hour or so, then I went to another shower, this time for a baby!

Why yes, I do look like a thief.  I had been on praise team that day, and I don't own a shirt in the color we wore that day, so I wore all black.

Abbey's sister Ashley and friend Melinda gave this shower, and Ashley has that same gift with showers that Abbey has.  They're always so meaningful.  I can't wait to meet baby Asher in a few weeks!

Monday was back to normal, and Toddley returned to work again.  Drew went to his classes, and Jonah and Noah did school work, then later in the day, Jonah painted all the trim in their bathroom.  That night, he painted the bathroom cabinets.  I have some before and afters.

Before he did this bathroom remodel, the walls had been a taupe-ish tan color.  He painted them a light gray color, then he painted all the trim white.  Before this, the trim had been half cream and half white.  (The previous owners had done this, and our kitchen is the same.)  The cabinet was a standard oak cabinet, and he painted it the 2020 Sherwin Williams color of the year~Naval.  I couldn't love it more if I tried.  This kid blows my mind and can do anything.  He reminds me so much of my husband.  Todd is the same way.

We also replaced the old white mirror with this new wood one, and we'll buy a new bronze light fixture for above the sink, along with a new toilet paper holder and some towel bars.  My talented mom is making them a new shower curtain, one that is a buffalo check navy and white.  And we replaced the toilet seat with a new one.  (I had no idea that was even a thing.)

Today he put all the fronts back on and finished giving it a good cleaning and put it all together again.

I had to grocery shop again today, for a few things, and Jonah and Noah had hair appointments during that time.  I went to my happy place for some new books to read, and dropped off some things for donation at the Goodwill.  I made dinner tonight, but we were missing Noah.  He's been working a lot and that's where he was tonight.  He loves his job at Papa John's, and enjoys the people he works with.  Drew had a doctor's appointment today at an ortho doctor out here in The Ville, and found out he may have torn his meniscus.  They're not sure, but The Imaging Center is supposed to be calling him with a time for an appointment for an MRI.  He may be looking at surgery, but we're praying that isn't the case.  Todd did say tonight that if he does have to have the surgery, he can always schedule it during a break in school so he won't have to miss.

Please help me pray for him, though, that he won't require surgery and that it will heal.  They gave him a better brace, one that won't allow his knee to bend, and was told to stay off of it as much as possible, to ice it and to take ibuprofen.  Tonight, Graham is working all night in the downtown area.  He will be setting up for some event, and is getting paid a hefty sum to work all night long.  He is currently upstairs trying to sleep.  He will work from midnight till either four or eight in the morning, then he'll come home and go to his real job.  That makes me tired, just thinking about it.

So, see what I mean?  We have been so busy these last weeks, and I don't see it slowing down any for now.  Our new windows came in last week, and they'll be here early next week to replace them all.  I'm excited about this part.  After that the new siding will come.  Between the windows and painting, we'll start painting the halls where all the holes were.

I have a full day at home to look forward to tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to a long quiet time again, catching up with laundry, taking a leisurely shower, and finishing my current book so I can start a new library book I got today.  Tomorrow night is bible study at church, and I'm looking forward to rejoining them for the first time in two weeks.  I had to stay home last week to clean up after the plumbers, and Todd and I did that while all the boys were gone to get ready for the next day.  I can't wait to get caught up with them all.

Thanks for reading!  Love to all.
