weekending

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend—I did, but I am excited about this week. Here are a few things we were up to all weekend.

I started mine off by seeing Dad on Friday for lunch. He came over and we had some soup I'd made for us, then we sat and talked as usual, but our time flew by. I took him home and ended up staying and having dinner with them.

Todd and Graham worked that night, so I took Chip to bed with me and he basically lived his best life, using Todd's pillow and being covered up with my blanket.

I went out with Mom and Trish on Saturday and we ran a few errands together. I needed to go to Target and to HomeGoods and we had chips and dips for lunch at my favorite little Mexican restaurant. That night I went to their house for dinner, because everyone had plans and Todd was working again. When I came home, this is what I came home to.

They were watching a game while sitting very close to the fire pit, because it was FREEZING. I still love it when they have friends over.

I watched church from home and had choir practice this afternoon and I'm rounding out the weekend by reading a book that I started on Sunday. It was a really good, very low-key weekend.

I also pretty much stayed off of social media for a good portion of the weekend, which is always nice. I'm still trying to read more and watch tv/reach for my phone/be online less. How was your weekend? I'd love to hear from you!

I'm linking up with Tanya from The Other Side of the Road for this blog post.

Thanks for reading my blog, friends. Love to all.

Such sweet and simple times. These are the best days. I love the ordinary with friends and family. Have a blessed week!

We had a lovely weekend with a small party for my son's birthday. I give your kids credit for hanging out around the fire outside; I am such a wimp when it comes to the cold weather.

I have gotten into such a habit of listening to audio books, and I'm working on sitting down with a REAL paper book again. I actually finished one this weekend! Our dog definitely enjoys the bed when my husband is out of town. Thanks for linking up with Hello Monday! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road

Joanne~ That sounds like a great weekend! I do like the cold, but I don't know if I'd have been able to sit out there like they did for at least a couple of hours!

Tanya- That's awesome! I tried Audible last year and though I did listen to a few books, I have found that I don't pay attention as well unless I'm the one doing the reading. I also read fast, but for some reason couldn't understand the narrator if I sped the timing up. Happy reading!

Thankful Thursday
